 Sizewell WISCO2 involved the design and installation of both fibre, CAT7 shielded and coaxial cables for a new Ovation system designed for the Nuclear industry. The Network was built on a small scale for test purposes before we commenced installation on site.  During the planning stage we discovered that the client planned to utilise breakout boxes / Glands for the connections, Knowing the issues seen with them we held workshops and conference calls with the client to advise of the risks associated with them and provided alternative suggestions. Following the re-design proposal it was agreed we would move to patch panels to help with remedials and Maintenance.   A very high grade of cable  was used that is designed for the Power Industry, with enhanced protective coating. This installation also included the Disconnection of the existing control equipment, the upgrade to new cabinets and reconnection.  All this was done over a 2 week outage, with 24hr shifts.  Our work was so well received that we then were asked by Westinghouse and EDF to become a supplier for them across their nuclear power stations across the globe.
